yes the sky is supposed to be like that, but the ridge looks wierd to me ??

Practice, practice, practice.  Try using different brush softness or opacity when going around a defined edge.  Another tip is, when you have finished the composition run the Blur tool along the edge of the ridge to soften the harsh edges.
